Great, honest, bunch of guys. Take a drive down 125 in Plaistow and check out some of those pawn shops. If you do, you will never complain about Tradeland again!
In their defense I did see ONE amplifier out of well over 20+ they had in stock that was definitely a good deal but every other piece of musical gear was way over priced.
I also like that they sell gift certificates. Knowing my affinity for used stuff, I will get 1 or 2 a year as gifts and I just keep them in my car to have whenever I stop in.
I finally went to check this place out and being an active musician who constantly checks prices on EBay,Craigslist & Guitar Center it’s safe to say that I would never buy anything at this place. Unless they had a rare guitar or something I couldn’t find elsewhere I would steer clear of this place.
Yes, prices are often high relative to Craigslist, but Tradeland offers more value with the return policies and also not having to run around to go and get stuff like you do when you buy off CL. So, there is their Value Prop. Even with that, if you hunt around and check back in often you can find good prices on stuff. The owners will push a bit with a sales pitch at times, but just politely let them know you are there to browse and they won't hound you.
Lastly I know for a fact that they most definitely screwed the poor unsuspecting souls who brought items there to sell.
Sure it may be convenient BUT no doubt that comes at a cost.
I went on to check out some tools,stereo equipment,computers & tablets yup all way over priced.
Oh fwiw it was 3:30 in the afternoon during the week and I was the only person in this place aside from 3 workers.
A couple of the younger guys know the guitars better and one was up front with me and pointed out a hairline crack in the top when I saw what seemed like a phenomenal deal on an acoustic guitar. I appreciated the honesty and walked away.
As a rule of thumb, I buy almost everything used. I have never had a problem at Tradeland. I stop in once every week or so to see what is new, mostly for tools but I have my circuit that takes me through the collectibles, guitars, and electronics, too. The tools I have bought have all performed fine and I like that they warranty them and that I can return them (haven't needed to, but it is good to know.).

I've been in a few times in the past. I've had many good experiences and maybe 2 bad experiences. Once you realize that this is a pawn shop who doesn't need what you habe to sell, you can understand why they aren't offering you top dollar. They have bills to pay too, and can't just toss money at everyone. I have negotiated both in buying and selling and have had luck with the staff in both areas. Don't expect to get what you think an item is worth, expect them to find a price that they feel is reasonable, remember you came to them not the other way around.
Their pricing was top dollar for every single item I was extremely familiar with.
I don’t normally do the review thing good or bad but this place I just had to at least state what I saw and ripoff central would be my findings with this place.
Seems to me they check whatever the highest price an item sold for on EBay then that’s what they price their items at.
I love this place. There DVDs always work and are very cheap. I am always greeted when I walk in the store. They have very nice people that work in there. Yes the trade in isn't that good but it is better then most places like GameStop and Goodeeds
Every thing I saw was priced like that.
My only wish is that there was more changeover in inventory. They have been dropping prices lately so, hopefully, some of the older items will start moving.
